"Escape from Animal Planet of Madness"
Somewhere far, far away, deep in the vastness of space, Spaceman Bob and his beloved girlfriend Jill are enjoying a ride in their spacecraft.
As they pass through the void of space, Jill inches in her seat towards Bob and whispers into his ear.
“I have something for you.”
Bob’s ears perk. “Really, what?”
Jill smiles and proceeds to search through her purse until she produces a small, neatly wrapped gift.
She holds it up in front of Bob. “Here you go.”
Bob looks at the gift and then to Jill with surprise.
“What is this for?” Bob asks.
“What? Are you joking?” replies Jill.
She stares hard at him then says, “You don't know what day it is do you?” her eyes starting to bore holes through his spacesuit.
“Of course I do, it's....” Bob searches through his brain trying to determine what events have passed and what month it is; anything for a clue. He glances over at Jill, staring stern with her arms crossed.
Hesitantly Bob takes a wild guess, “Val – en – tine's Day?”
The anger on Jill's face fades into a smile as she wraps her arms around Bob.
“I thought for a second you had forgotten, you joker.”
Bob fakes a smile. “Haha, yeah, funny me.”
Jill sets the present in Bob's lap and returns to her seat.
He tentatively opens the package to reveal a picture of Jill and himself within a flowery frame, Jill smiling in the corner of his eye.
“OK, can I have my gift now?”
Bob starts to sweat, glancing around nervously.
Jill realizes he has not answered her and crosses her arms. “You DID forget didn't you?!”
“No, no, no, no, it’s just......”
Bob searches from side to side but nothing comes to his mind. Jill’s foot starts tapping the floor impatiently.
“Well?”
Bob notices a small colourful planet off in the distance and starts concocting a plan.
“Jill, honey, I absolutely have a Valentine's gift for you. We're actually on our way to get it now.” he says as he points to the little planet.
“Really?” she asks seeming unconvinced.
“Of course!” Bob says as he turns his spacecraft toward the plant.
“You just wait here while I go pick it up, OK?” He says as he lands his vehicle.
“I will be back in no time.”
Jill’s face lights up again and a smile breaks from ear to ear.
“What is it?” she asks.
“You know I can't tell you that. Now you just wait here until I return.”
Bob undoes his seat strap and opens the door to let himself out.
“I will be right back.”
Jill gives him a big smile and he returns it as he closes the door.
Bob turns around and takes a look at the planet. Other than the space station he has landed on this world seems wild and uninhabited, covered in large trees and plants as far as the eye can see.
As Bob walks away from the ship and out of Jill's view he starts picking flowers from the various plants, creating a bouquet, oblivious to the sign he has passed that reads “Animal breeding ground habitat.”
Bob wanders further and further into the jungle in search of more beautiful flowers, unaware that as he does, the sun and moon of this planet are changing the seasons.
As Bob continues his search for pretty flowers, he starts to hear strange sounds from unknown places, from unseen creates and begins to frighten.
Cautiously he draws his plasma gun and decided it's probably time to head back to Jill.
[Game Begins]
After several hours of arduous travel through rough terrain, and fighting past countless numbers of sex crazed animals in mating season, Bob makes it to his ship, sore and exhausted.
He tries to calm his breathing and tidy himself up before he sees Jill. He hides the bouquet behind his back.
He opens the door to find Jill staring at him angrily, arms crossed and eyes as red as flame.
“Where have you been! You've been gone for hours?”
“I was just getting your gift.” he explains. “Now close your eyes.”
Jill's eyes light up at the thought of the surprise. She closes her eyes and holds out her hands as Bob places the bouquet in her hands.
“OK, open your eyes.”
As she does, Bob begins to yell “Surpri.........” when he is cut off by Jill.
“FLOWERS!!” Jill exclaims angrily. Bob's heart sinks.
“You got me flowers?” Bob's heart is now in his stomach, his knees shaking.
“You know I'm allergic to pollen!” she fumes. Bob begins to feel sick to his stomach. How could he forget that?
Jill throws the bouquet out the door past Bob then looks him right in the eyes.
“Now take me home!!”
The End.
